"Quilter’s Quadrille is the latest in a series of works that explore the nature of time. Audience members are presented with a set of dance steps to be performed at will on the prepared dancefloor, uncanny in its vault location.

Through either complex rituals or basic movements, I create worlds through which the boundaries of freedom and control within time are tested. The tension and perceived difference between repetition and the continuous may be understood as the physical manifestation of a thwarted attempt to control time.

Choose a position on the dancefloor. Begin when ready. Step forward with left foot. Bring feet together. Step forward with right foot. Bring feet together. Step back with left foot. Bring feet together. Step back with right foot. Bring feet together. Repeat."
